Meet Josh Cartwright: MX Down South Road To Loretta’s 2012

Today we will meet Josh Cartwright who is headed to Loretta’s Ranch for the 9th time. This year Josh is racing in the Schoolboy 1 and Open 2-Stroke classes.

Road to Loretta’s
Josh’s road to Loretta’s led us to both an Amateur Regional and a Youth Regional. He finished 2nd in the Open 2-Stroke class at the Amateur Regional at Freestone MX in Wortham, Texas, and 1st in Schoolboy 1 at the Youth Regional at Spring Creek MX in Millville, MN. This was his first Regional win since he was 6 years old on a PW50.  To prepare for Loretta’s Josh is currently attending a MX Boot Camp at the Georgia Practice Facility in Cairo, Ga.

Personal Info
Josh is from Memphis, TN and attends St. Benedict High School. He maintains an A average in school, plays Lacrosse, runs Cross Country, and competes on the Swim team.

Racing Background

Josh has been racing since he was 4 years old. In addition to his 9 trips to Loretta’s, he’s had top 10 finishes at most of the national events including Ponca, Lake Whitney, Oak Hill, Mini O’s, and Branson. In 2012 he had his best national race finish with a 3rd in Schoolboy 1 at the Mill Creek Spring Classic. Josh also loves racing Hare Scrambles. He won a GNCC National Championship in 2009 in the 85 12-13 class. His MX goal this year is a top 10 at Loretta’s.
